Latest Magazine Dumfries and Maxwelltown member celebrates her hundredth birthday in style Members of Legion Scotland’s Dumfries and Maxwelltown branch joined together on 7 September to celebrate the hundredth birthday of their oldest member, Nancy Beck. Nancy, who has been a longstanding member of the organisation, was congratulated at home by her fellow Legionnaires to mark the occasion. The Lord-Lieutenant of Dumfries, Fiona Armstrong, was also present, as was Nancy’s family and friends. Nancy has been a committed member of the branch for many years and she also has the double distinction of being one of the few surviving members of that special generation who took part in the Second World War. Along with royal congratulations from King Charles and Queen Camilla, Nancy received a special birthday card from the Legion Scotland President, along with a certificate and medallion awards in recognition of her long service to the nation and Legion Scotland.
