Support visits

Visits offer supportive, reliable relationships through our Veterans Community Support Volunteers to veterans who would otherwise be socially isolated.

Our Veterans Community Support Service stands on three main pillars

1. Befriending

2. Comradeship

3. Sourcing Practical Help

Our Scotland wide network of staff and volunteers give their time to offer friendship and companionship to isolated or lonely veterans or their dependants. Support visits can be carried out at home and also involve getting out for a coffee, walks, etc., We organise lunches, days out and many events and activities throughout the year.

An important part of the service is the information gathering/signposting/referral service, so our clients know that they always have a "trusted friend" to turn to for support.

If you require a visit from your local Veteran Community Support Volunteer, please complete this referral form and send to: [email protected]

If you wish to volunteer to become a Community Support Volunteer, please see our Support Volunteer sign up form and you can also contact Tommy Douglas on 0131 550 1560.
